Worship is the heart of everything we do. Worship is encountering God, renewing our commitment to Jesus Christ, and growing in faith through the power of the Holy Spirit. Worship is discovering who we are together and what it means to be the Church, working alongside Christ in mission to the world. Worship is offering the very best of ourselves in praise and thanksgiving for all the gifts God freely offers us.
At First UMC, we believe that worship is for people of all ages and abilities. We strive to make worship just as engaging and meaningful for our two-year-olds as it is for our folks who are 102. We also know what matters most is that we are becoming the whole family of God together ~ singles and couples, children and elders. When any part of our congregation misses out on worship, we all miss out!
We provide weekly Young Worshipers Bulletins with activities and visual cues to help pre-readers and early readers learn how to worship with our congregation. We also offer Assistive Hearing Devices and a brochure full of tips to help make worshiping with children easier and more meaningful for the whole family. Our Ushers will be happy to help you find these items when you arrive for worship on Sunday morning.
